What is Sinara?

Sinara Open Hardware

Open hardware isn’t always an obvious choice, but we believe openness unlocks immense value. Discover Sinara – a successful story of innovation and collaboration in open hardware!

What is Sinara?

Sinara is an open hardware ecosystem designed for building high-performance, modular scientific instrumentation. Developed by a global community of researchers and engineers, with a leading role of Warsaw University of Technology, Sinara provides a flexible platform for precision control and measurement in laboratories, particularly in fields like quantum computing, atomic physics and photonics. The hardware consists of a range of modules all of which are available as open-source projects on GitHub. Using Sinara, scientists and engineers can create highly specialized setups tailored to their research needs, while benefiting from the transparency and collaboration that open hardware provides.

Modular Platform

Sinara is built for modularity and scalability, enabling flexible configurations for a wide range of applications. Each Sinara system consists of a controller and various peripherals. Controllers connect to a network, manage peripherals, and generate critical signals like clocks and triggers. Peripherals add functionality by providing sensors and actuators, such as ADC/DACs, RF generators, and I/O modules. This modular approach allows users to mix and match peripherals to tailor the system for specific experimental requirements, offering a highly adaptable solution for complex scientific instrumentation setups.

Variety of Modules

Sinara offers a wide variety of modules to meet diverse experimental needs. Controllers range from low-end MCU-based options to FPGA and Zynq 7000 SoC-based models. Users can integrate various peripherals such as DACs, ADCs, servo modules, RF generators (DDS) and amplifiers, microwave synthesizers, AWGs, HV generators and amplifiers, clock source and distribution modules, power supplies and other components ensure seamless integration across complex setups.

Our team spacializes in cutting-edge software solution

Specialized setup, generic components

Sinara systems come in a range of configurations, from compact setups for small experiments to large, multi-crate installations for advanced research. Systems can start with a single controller and a few peripherals and easily expand to include additional crates, increasing functionality as project needs grow. Whether your application requires just a few modules or an extensive array of RF generators, DACs, and microwave synthesizers, Sinara’s modular design ensures that your system scales smoothly with your research.
